This past week as many know the ICC took place in Roosevelt and my grade the sophomores made history getting on 2nd place in the whole completion. But this ICC was much more different, I know that anyone that reads this and wasn’t in my grade would say that we only got in 2nd place but actually we got much more than that.
I learned what is to work in a real group, I learned that ALWAYS together everything is possible you just got to put the right cards on the right spots. I also learned that If in a group you all work together for one goal but not any goal, but a rewarding goal everyone is going to give their best.
In the ICC week we also had class and in IA since we have been making the Roles for every student in the magazine business I was completely able to apply what I learned in a competition that is not an academic theme or it doesn’t end with a grade but it ends with something much more nicer which is that at the end of the job you are able to see that all your hard work is rewarded.
If you may think that this is absurd maybe I should show you a little bit more what I learned. I learned that in life not everything is about numbers, results, money, grades but instead is the hard work that you put in the respective role or project and the reward afterwards which is not any of the things I said before but just recognition of your effort in it.
Well to wrap up this short entry, I would first like to thank anyone related to the sophomore crew and also to the school for letting us have something that they believe it or not can change perspectives of people just as it did to me. Also I would like to end this entry telling anyone that is reading it to focus on who is around you, worry about your friends, teachers and the effort you put in your work not on the final grade and be persistent on any of your works and if you know you are not going to be able to make it perfect and if you end up giving it not perfect for a 8/8 but giving a strong work with lots of effort and you feel you gave your 101% feel good about yourself!
