Starting something no one you done before can be hard.
What I have learned starting our Innovation academy year and starting our first project called the "Iweek" i have learned that being welcomed is something that can completely make that start of something new go from hard to easy.
In the IA we started our first project called the Iweek. In the Iweek we where given a kind of group of the 3 different levels combined (sophomores, juniors and seniors) and they gave us a topic. There where three kind of topics and three groups I got into the topic of how to make he 6th graders feel more comfortable in the secondary school after having the topic we needed to figure out some problems and solutions for those problems chosen.
We had all kinds of ideas and we worked really hard because in the first day we needed to have three for the end of the day to present it to the other 2 groups. We went to different 6th grade classes and observe them how the act in the first two periods in middle school so we can make a problem. Our problems weren't as good as possible because of two main reasons which where 1.it was the first day of school and the group where of different grades and 2.because our solutions to our problem could be presented that same day but it needed to be presented the friday of this week.
After having some good ideas that eventually ended up failing, we ended up with our problem being that the 6th graders where intimidated of us and the solution was to have a separate time with them alone.I think this idea was correct because they where actually intimidated at us but the only thing that failed was our day of actually doing the solution because we chose students that had older brothers and that knew some of us,so they werent actually intimidaded because they knew us some how so for next time I would choose students completley ramdomly and with no older brothers or sisters because then you could really see the intimidation.
